Herbaceous clump forming perennial that blooms erect stems of tiny star shaped white flowers June to July. Grows by rhizomes that can be quite aggressive when grown in the ideal conditions of rich, moist soil in full sun; less aggressive if grown in drier soil with light shade. Best when grown massed in a wild garden or in a remote area in the garden or against garages or sheds so that it can be contained. As grows quite well along streams or ponds in moist areas. Makes an excellent cut flower.
